The hot springs nearby were authentic. Plan your transport to take you back after because it was hard to get a Grab back. The beach, like all the others we visited in Bali, was filthy. The dolphin watching, from everyone we met, should be avoided (about 100 boats all chasing after a pod of dolphins).

Lovina is like Bali before tourism boomed. People very friendly and shop owners arent too pushy to buy things. Great choice of places to eat out and bars to drink. A lot of accommodation options from very budget to very pricey. Easy to find transport or food delivery, even though they have discouraged Gojek and Grab in Lovina. Easy to find peace and quiet and uncrowded beach, unllike the southern part of Bali. The beaches are dark sand which is fine except that it is very hot to sit on the beach! Very quiet place - so many warungs but very few people. Locals say there tourists are typically older retiring people. 3 nights was fine but would stay maybe 2 next time. If you go to lovina motorbike and waterfalls are a must however some locals are trying to scam tourists by charging to use road near sekumpal waterfall. Git git- aling alibg and banumala- all great- no scams reasonable price to visit - 20000 ( $2)

Lovina Beach is the more populous area. Good for a first timer. Plenty of Bar and Warung options as well as some lovely sunset bars along the waterfront. The main road has a bit of traffic so perhaps staying a little distance away would help. The beach path between the dolphin statue and the Lovina Hotel is well built and well lit at night.

The property was fairly well maintained. The bed was comfy, the shower good, and they provided a drying rack. The pool was lovely and clean with a swim up bar. They had an excellent breakfast buffet. The other meals were off the menu. The food, overall, overall, was very good. And the service was excellent. Breakfast was adequate and the restaurant stayed open till quite late, so that was good if you did not want to venture out to eat. The spa was not too bad, and the pools (there were two) good for cooling off. I especially like the bales (elevated big, bed-size lounges) in the pool area... perfect for reading and napping. It's also a short walk to the beach.

Lovina is not busy like the south so you don't need to long there but was a very lovely place and was very cheap. We were able to have a massage in our villa and was able to walk to restarants/shops. Would not hesitate to recommend this place.
